Why a Logo is Important?
Have you ever taken a logo quiz? How often did you guess the right brand simply by its logo? For instance, brands like Tim Horton, McDo...
Other than designers, very few people actually think about typography. There are several important choices that need to be made when it comes to choosing the proper type for you and your brand, such as font family, layout, kerning, and even colour choice.
Wikipedia defines typography as:
“Typography is the art and technique of arranging type to make written language readable and beautiful. The arrangement of type involves selecting typefaces, point size, line length, line-spacing (leading), letter-spacing (tracking), and adjusting the space within letters pairs (kerning).”
To understand typography, and what type is right for you, it is helpful to know a bit of the history of typography itself. This interesting, stop-motion style video by Ben Barrett-Forrest glazes over the evolution of type in 5 minutes. Expand your typographic knowledge, and see how you can make type work for you!
