Internet marketing and Advertising Techniques in the Marketing and Advertising world are also referred to as Onsite & Offsite Marketing.  So what is the difference and why do you need to know?
 
That's a simple answer.  If you want to successfully market or promote your business you need to not only think like a professional marketing firm you need to understand their jargon.  So, to help you with this, lets start with a quick and simple explaination of onsite vs offsite marketing.
 
Onsite Maketing:  These are marketing and promotional initiatives that you control, manage and perform from within your company.  For example internet marketing is a form of on-site marketing.  Yes, with internet marketing you may be exposing your product or service to billions of people, however, the key is that you have full control of it from your very own desk.  Some other examples of onsite marketing could be promotions such as email marketing, interior signage promoting daily/weekly/monthly specials or promotions that may be going on, or maybe it is you inserting a promotional discount card into a customers invoice.  Again, to break it down to its simpliest form:  It is any internet marketing & Advertising Techniques that you can control and manage on your own and without the need of another supplier or vendor.
 
Offsite Marketing:  These are all the initiatives for marketing and promoting your business that require you to seek out the assistance of a supplier or vendor.  Some examples of these types of promotions are bench ads, magazine and newspaper ads, billboards, flyers etc. As you can imagine this list could go on and on, but I think you get the idea.  Basically, it is marketing, advertising and other promotional avenues that require you to depend on an outside supplier/vendor.
 
Now that you know the difference between the two, how do you determine what internet marketing and Advertising Techniques to use, when to use them and why.  Well that's where a clear vision and a strong plan is going to be critical in ensuring your decisions are successful and generate revenue.  Afterall, why would you spend any money if it wasn't going to generate more money.
